Buyers Agents are licensed professionals that specialise in searching, locating, evaluating and negotiating the purchase of property on behalf of the buyer. They do not sell real estate. The key difference between a Buyers Agent and a traditional sales agent is who they represent. A Buyers Agent works exclusively for the buyer unlike the sales agent who works for the vendor (the seller).
Many buyers mistakenly believe that the selling agent is also looking after their best interests. This agent cannot, by law, look after the seller and the buyer. The selling agent is paid by the vendor to achieve the highest possible price for their property.
